DriverVara Limited (“DriverVara”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the DriverVara mobile application and related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information We Collect
- Account & Contact Data: phone number, name (if provided), profile details, and communications with support.
- Verification & Security: one-time passwords (OTP) and verification logs; a per-install device identifier used for fraud prevention and account protection.
- Location Data: precise/approximate location (when you grant permission) to show nearby drivers/owners, trip status, and safety features. Background location may be used only when you explicitly enable on-duty/active features that require it.
2. How We Use Your Information
- create and manage your account; authenticate using phone number + OTP;
- match drivers and car owners, show nearby availability, and operate bookings;
- send transactional messages (OTP, alerts, push notifications);
- protect against fraud and abuse, enforce Terms, and ensure platform safety;
- improve the app and support.
3. Legal Bases
We process data to perform our contract with you (provide the Services), based on your consent (e.g., location), and our legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, service improvement), and to comply with legal obligations.
4. Sharing & Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share limited data with service providers who help us operate the Services, for example:
- Firebase (Google): authentication, database (Firestore), cloud functions, storage, messaging, App Check, and optional analytics.
- SMS gateway (AamarSMS or similar): to deliver OTP codes to your phone number.
- Real-time communication providers (e.g., Agora): to enable in-app calls where applicable. We don’t store call audio.
Service providers are bound by contracts and process data only on our instructions. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, users, or the public.
5. Data Retention
We keep data only for as long as necessary to provide the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, accounting). OTP codes are short-lived and verification logs are retained for a limited time.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures, Google Play Integrity / App Check, authentication safeguards, and access controls. No method is 100% secure; please keep your device and account secure.
7. International Transfers
We use cloud infrastructure (including Google Firebase). Your data may be processed on servers outside your country (for example, the United States or the EU). We take steps to protect your information consistent with this policy.
8. Your Rights & Choices
- Permissions: you can enable/disable location and notifications in your device settings.
- Access, update, delete: you may request a copy or deletion of your data. Email us at DriverVara@gmail.com.
- Data portability: we can provide your basic account data in a portable format on request.
9. Children
DriverVara is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the latest version here and update the “Effective date”.
